Webisode: Apple Picking

Fall is truly the season of coziness and one of my favorite ways to get into the spirit is to venture outdoors for an afternoon of apple picking. While recently visiting my sister in San Francisco, she suggested we pile in the car and head about 60 miles north of San Francisco. Final destination: Gabriel Farm in Sebastopol, where they grow row upon row of both Fuji and Golden Delicious apple trees. We each went home with a box full of apples (15 lbs each!) and although I would have loved to put up some apple butter or make a cheddar, apple and bacon sandwich or two, these apples were perfect as is – juicy, crisp, tart and just sweet enough. We finished them in a matter of weeks.
