Russian River Valley
Just returned to LA after a long weekend spent in the Russian River Valley, a picturesque part of Sonoma in Northern California.
We spent our afternoons driving through winding roads, not knowing which way to look – vineyards on the left, fields of wildflowers on our right. All gorgeous.
We stopped at the Thomas George Estates Winery and tasted local Chardonnay and Pinot Noir inside a chilly cave.
My sister and I spent one morning catching up while taking a long walk down a misty road.
While strolling through the neighboring town of Headlsburg, we paid a visit to the Downtown Bakery and Creamery for cafe lattes and what tasted like the best sticky bun ever.
There was some antiquing…
and for lunch, we ate fried clams and sipped chilled Sauvingon Blanc at Willi’s Seafood and Raw Bar, also in Healdsburg.
We experienced many other magical moments but for the most part I was laying low, taking it all in and pulling out the camera only occasionally. Hope you enjoyed this mini-tour through this very special part of California. Wondering if you have any favorite weekend getaways? I would love to know.
