One of the oldest and most beautiful wineries in the area is Far Niente. We had a tour of the caves and tasted their Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The local town is called St. Helena and the streets are filled with cute little shops and charming restaurants. Our favorite was French Blue, where we induldged in the above sticky bun. The thing was even better than it looks and the dining room is straight out of a Nancy Myers movie.

More Napa Style. My sis looks like she's a French film actress, yes?
Napa in Bloom
My summer has started with a bang! In the travel department, that is. Between work trips, a bachelorette weekend, and one straight-up-vacation, barely a week has gone by without packing up my weekender. Last week, my family and I headed up to Northern California for a long weekend in Napa. This is wine country and when we weren’t laying by the pool (temps reached 105), we were wine tasting and eating at some great restaurants. This is a delightful place to unwind. Here are some of my favorite moments:
Other great Napa spots:
Goose and the Gander for dinner (read: duck fat french fries) with a log cabin vibe.
St. Helena Olive Oil Company for locally produced olive oils, balsamic vinegars and the best sun-dried tomatoes I have ever tasted.
The local yarn shop Muse (I can’t help myself).
Woodhouse Chocolates for delicious and outrageously beautiful handcrafted chocolates.
