Some comfort for the weekend.

Last week I posted a new Chef Speak on the Huffington Post and failed to mention it here. It’s probably my “coziest” piece yet, seeing as it’s about the Ojai situated mecca of special vibes and homemade goods, The Farmer and The Cook.

It’s kind of a dreamy set up – husband and wife team Steve Sprinkel and Olivia Chase open a restaurant/marketplace in the middle of the Ojai Valley, determined to serve delicious and healthy food. He’s a passionate farmer growing most of the restaurant’s ingredients, while she’s the thoughtful cook highlighting the produce in her innovative recipes.

Speaking of recipes, how appealing are these Date Pumpkin Seed Honey Muffins? I think very. Olivia was kind enough to share this recipe with us and I can’t wait to whip up a batch this weekend. And this is where the comfort comes in. Most baking enthusiasts agree that baking is a soothing activity that is above all relaxing. All of this is a long winded way of saying – bake, relax and get cozy this weekend.
