Guava Margaritas

Last week I was walking through the Hollywood Farmers Market when a tropical, sweet smell beckoned me. The farmer asked if I wanted to taste the small pink fruit, which I obviously did. It tasted like a vacation. Maybe like Hawaii, although I don’t remember eating guavas there. I bought six guavas and ate most of them as if they were precious little apples, setting two aside for cocktail explorations. If you can get your hands on some guavas please give this recipe a try and experience that insta-vacation feeling. You can purchase Orange Blossom Water at speciality markets or right here.

Guava Margaritas
Serves 2
…………………………………………………..

2 guavas, roughly chopped
1 ounce agave
2 ounces lime juice (2 limes)
4 ounces good quality silver tequila
Orange Blossom Water
1 cup of ice

Muddle the guavas, the agave and the juice of two limes in a cocktail shaker. Add tequila, a splash of orange blossom water and ice and shake until mixed and icy cold. Strain into glasses and garnish with lime segments.
