Steakhouse Flashback

Have you ever been to the Del Rae restaurant? Established in 1958, the Pico Rivera eatery feels wonderfully stuck in another era. We rolled up in a limo and entered the 1960s.

But back to the limo. Wowee, limos are fun. Drinking champagne while riding in a limo is even more delightful. This whole adventurous evening was in honor of our lovely friend Sherry’s birthday.

Which reminded me our our first date with Sherry and Miguel when they took us to another old steakhouse called The Buggy Whip. What is it about these places that feels so magical? Maybe it’s something about the Oysters Rockefeller and Steak Diane. Or maybe it’s the ceiling made of cork or melodic hum coming from the old-timey piano bar. Whatever it is, I love it.
