Weekend
How was your weekend, friends? Mine was a balance of work and relaxation and began with a gorgeous delivery from my sweet friends Holly and Becky. So inspired by this happy little arrangement.
Before heading to the gallery on Saturday morning, I spent a few hours at the weaving studio. It took me several months to set up the warp and I’m excited to actually begin weaving. The loom is crazy big but I’m ready for the challenge.
I loaded up the shuttles with hand-spun yarn I bought in Santa Fe. The whole process is so beautiful.
Saturday was the final day of Charlene Liu‘s show at Taylor De Cordoba and Alex and I spent the afternoon greeting last minute visitors, hurrying in to see the work before it came down. (For those of you who missed it, you can read a great article about the exhibit in New American Paintings)
After closing, we did a studio visit with one of our artists Frohawk Two Feathers, who is preparing for his first museum solo show at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver. We have been working with Frohawk since we opened our doors in 2006 so this is a momentous occasion for all of us.
Frohawk’s studio is at The Brewery Arts Complex in downtown LA and as we headed to our car I noticed that the light was amazing (aka magic hour). Naturally, I took this as an opportunity to do a photoshoot with the shipping containers, showcasing my awesome new sunglasses (Celine!).
Next, we headed to a friend’s birthday dinner where we were greeted by an epic cheese and charcuterie spread that reminded me how much I love eating this way. Remember my “weeknight dinner party”???
I hope your weekend was wonderful! What did you do?
