Tree to Table Camellias

IMG_0849

While most of my garden looks like an abandoned disaster, my camellia tree is completely off the hook. Every year I forget how beautiful this tree becomes and how much brighter each flower appears the middle of winter when the rest of the plants look dull.

In an effort to slow down and embrace the good things right in front of me, I spent part of Sunday morning hanging out in the yard, cutting a few select blooms and arranging them. I grabbed some rosemary and lavender while I was out there too. Nothing is more soothing than making something simple and beautiful.
