Inside Bea’s House
I was recently enjoying a cup of chai at my friend Beatrice Valenzuela‘s house in Echo Park. As the sun started to set, a soft glow washed over her cozy abode and I thought, “this is LA living at it’s best.” We have already spent time with Bea on LA in Bloom (see Cooking with Bea) but I thought she deserves a little more attention. In addition to designing her eponymous line of shoes, Bea is a weaver, knitter and lover of textiles. It’s no surprise that Bea has amassed a gorgeous collection of tapestries and wall hangings, along with other richly textured pieces. See above for a selection of what looked loveliest to me.
Also, remember when Bea and I made Salsa de Nopales y Granada? Such a great day.
