My friend Victoria tipped me off to the most amaaaazing antiques store in Ojai. Hacienda carries Native American rugs, 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival, vintage Mexican silver and Josefa caftans from the ’60s, among other treasures.
And legend has it that owner, Ilon Specht, was the inspiration for the character of “Peggy” on my fav show of the moment, Mad Men. Back in 1973 Specht wrote L’Oreal’s “Because I’m Worth It” (later changed to “Because You’re Worth It”). So in addition to being a great place to browse old California antiques, it’s also a fun treat for all you hard-core Mad Men fans.
